About this role (from BlueCat Networks's posting)
We're BlueCat—a Great Place to Work for good reason. Our team solves critical network challenges for some of the world's largest organizations. In simple terms, we manage the systems that keep networks running smoothly, securely, and reliably—the backbone infrastructure that powers digital transformation for enterprises globally. Our Intelligent Network Operations platform delivers and enables AI-driven agentic ops at scale, automating and simplifying how companies manage, secure, and optimize their networks.
But what makes us different is how we work: we believe great work happens in an environment where you're trusted, heard, and supported. With teams globally, we're building a workplace culture that values collaboration and integrity as much as innovation. If you're looking to advance your career with a company that invests in its people, this is it.
We are seeking a consultative, customer-focused Sales Engineer to help enterprise organizations modernize their infrastructure operations through API-driven automation, AI-assisted operational intelligence, and integrated DDI solutions.
This role goes far beyond traditional pre-sales engineering. You will serve as a trusted advisor to customers throughout the customer lifecycle — from discovery and evaluation through adoption, operational success, and expansion. You’ll collaborate closely with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Professional Services, Customer Success, and GTM teams to help customers simplify operations, accelerate automation, improve security posture, and drive measurable business value.
Whether you are a Network Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, Systems Architect, Automation Engineer, or customer-facing technical consultant with strong networking and cloud expertise, we want to hear from you.
Please note that only candidates residing in the DACH region and fluent in German will be contacted.
What you'll do:
Advise customers on infrastructure modernization
Lead consultative discovery sessions on cloud transformation, automation, and resiliency
Advise on modern DDI architectures across hybrid and multi-cloud environments
Help migrate legacy network services to API-driven, automated platforms
Guide operational best practices for DNS, DHCP, IPAM, security, and orchestration
Align technical recommendations to customer business priorities and outcomes
Deliver business value through technical engagements
Lead proof-of-value engagements around automation outcomes and infrastructure resiliency
Design integrated solutions leveraging BlueCat alongside cloud, security, and orchestration platforms
Support Infrastructure-as-Code strategies, automation frameworks, and API integrations
Deliver technical workshops, executive presentations, and architecture reviews
Partner with Customer Success and Professional Services through deployment and expansion
Drive collaboration and market influence
Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and GTM to shape product direction
Provide feedback on automation capabilities, API usability, and cloud integrations
Contribute to enablement content, architecture guidance, and thought leadership
Participate in customer advisory engagements, webinars, and industry events
Identify expansion opportunities across the broader BlueCat platform portfolio
Manage engagements and opportunity updates in Salesforce and collaboration tools
Qualifications:
3+ years in sales engineering, infrastructure/network engineering, technical consulting, or customer-facing architecture roles
Experience designing enterprise solutions for networking, cloud, security, automation, or systems integration
Bachelor's in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or related field — or equivalent practical experience
Strong consultative and relationship-building skills with enterprise stakeholders
Executive communication skills — able to simplify complex technical concepts for diverse audiences
Proven ability to align technical solutions with business outcomes and strategic priorities
Comfortable in a remote-first environment with moderate travel
Requirements:
Strong understanding of DNS, DHCP, and IP Address Management (DDI) platforms
Enterprise networking and network infrastructure operations
Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud environments
API-driven infrastructure and automation frameworks
Infrastructure-as-Code and orchestration technologies
Network security and operational resiliency strategies
Linux/UNIX platforms and systems administration
Scripting, automation, and systems integration
Virtualization and cloud-native technologies
