Remote Score for Khan Academy

50/100 · we score companies against a 10-point editorial rubric. How we score →

  • Fully distributed
  • Async-first culture
  • Timezone-flexible
  • Equal remote compensation
  • Home office stipend
  • Coworking allowance
  • Protected focus time
  • Public handbook
  • Transparent salaries
  • Distributed leadership

Editor's note: First-pass score. Remote-first non-profit (was hybrid-flex before COVID, fully remote since). Distributed leadership across US timezones primarily; less aggressive on global async than the for-profit pure-plays. No public salary spreadsheet (nonprofit norms). Sources: khanacademy.org/careers, public statements from Sal Khan post-2020. Review — non-profit context probably means lower-than-formula comp anyway, which the rubric doesn't capture.
