Job Summary The Total Rewards Coordinator supports the day-to-day administration and delivery of Payscale’s compensation and benefits programs. It’s a deliberately multifunctional role: the Coordinator is the first point of contact for leave and benefits questions, keeps our data and documentation clean, provides world-class support to Payscalers, and lends analytical and administrative support to the compensation team (including our job library and merit/promotion cycles). We’ll build the foundational knowledge for the person to specialize as they grow, with a clear path toward independently running leave-of-absence payroll. Work is performed with guidance from analysts and the Head of Total Rewards. The role executes established processes and escalates matters requiring judgment. At Level 2, the path opens into one of three ladders; Compensation Analyst, the generalist Total Rewards Analyst track, or Benefits & Leave Administrator. Key Responsibilities Benefits & leave support - First point of contact for routine employee benefits and leave questions; triage and escalate complex or sensitive cases - Process enrollments, life-event changes, and terminations in coordination with vendors and payroll - Support open enrollment logistics, timelines, and employee communications - Reconcile benefits invoices and flag discrepancies for review - Maintain benefits and leave documentation and employee-facing guides - Growth path: build toward preparing and owning the leave-of-absence payroll file. As well as outline leave-of-absence cases end to end Total Rewards operations & administration - Maintain Total Rewards trackers, shared files, and process documentation (working in shared/collaborative formats) - Respond to Tier-1 Total Rewards inquiries via the support queue; route what needs specialist attention - Coordinate vendor communications, meeting logistics, and follow-ups - Support compliance recordkeeping (e.g., ACA data, required notices) under review - Pull, validate, and format data for recurring reports and dashboards Compensation support - Maintain job and range data in the compensation system, including support on the job library / job catalog, and keep data hygiene high - Assist with survey submissions and market data collection - Prepare and format benchmarking data for analyst review - Support annual merit and mid-year promotion cycle logistics (data prep, tracking, file management) - Draft components of offer and compensation communications under guidance Required Qualifications - 0–2 years of experience in HR, benefits, compensation, or related administrative / operations work - Hands-on exposure to U.S. leave policies (FMLA, ADA, and at least one state PFML/disability program) - Strong attention to detail and comfort working with data in Excel / Sheets - Demonstrated discretion handling confidential employee information - Clear written and verbal communication; service-oriented - Ability to manage multiple deadlines across concurrent programs - Must be US-based Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting or preparing leave/payroll files, or multi-state US benefits and leave - Exposure to an HRIS and / or compensation or benefits administration tools - Prior experience in a SaaS / technology environment Location Payscale has an employee centric remote-first model that provides you the flexibility to do your best work in a space that supports you, while also finding time to collaborate in person for the moments that matter.
